Real WWII era A-2 flight jacket. This is not just a vintage leather jacket. This jacket is a "living piece of military history" as it was actually worn by officers of the U.S. Army Air Corps who flew over the battlefields in the skies in the 1940s. The size is 42, which is also good!

On the inside tag, you can see TYPE A-2 / DRAWING NO. 30-1415 / CONTRACT NO. W535-AC-2753. This contract number indicates the model was mass-produced for the U.S. Army Air Forces (USAAF) in the middle of WWII, around 1942-43. This jacket, clearly marked "PROPERTY AIR FORCES, U.S. ARMY," was officially issued by the U.S. Army. Moreover, this model is known as the lot that was actually issued and used in the battlefield, and many pilots wore it on the European and Pacific fronts.

And the biggest attraction of this item is the name stamp:
"LT.R.J. REBORDE / O-794859" that remains firmly on the inner lining.

The number starting with "O-" is a military number given to an Army officer, indicating that this piece was issued to an actual U.S. Army officer and spent time together on the battlefield.
This stamping is a coveted collector's detail. It is truly an "item with a resume".

The body is made of horsehide or steerhide, and the thick, rugged leather characteristic of the WWII period has developed beautiful deep grain and cracks (cracks) over nearly 80 years, giving it a unique presence.

  • The lining behind the collar is worn, and the inner lining shows signs of actual use with fading and tears.

  • Cuffs and waist ribs have tears and thread loss

  • The lining has a realistic look and feel, with some scuffs and stains left intact.

This is a "real historical war feeling" that cannot be reproduced by replicas. This age is the proof of real vintage A-2.

The front zipper is equipped with CONMAR's brass zipper. The front zipper is made by CONMAR, and it moves smoothly until the middle of the zipper, but the tape is broken and needs to be repaired to close fully.
However, the parts are still in existence, and it is possible to restore it by making use of CONMAR products of the time. Even with the assumption that it will be restored in the future, it is a valuable piece.

The A-2 was adopted in 1931 and became the most iconic item for U.S. military pilots and crews during WWII. The A-2 was adopted in 1931 and became the most iconic item for pilots and aircrews of the U.S. military during WWII. It is the origin of the military flight jacket, which was later succeeded by the MA-1 and the L-2 series.

This jacket was worn by an unknown U.S. military officer who risked his life in the skies over the battlefield.
The proof is burned into the texture of the leather, the frayed ribs, and the name stamp on the inside lining.

This is a "historical piece" that transcends the boundaries of military wear.
It can be worn as a display piece that reminds us of military history, or it can be worn after being restored. This is a rare opportunity to own an original A-2 during the war, which will become even rarer in the future. This is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
