Here comes a vintage boonie hat with an overwhelming presence, the Okinawa Tiger pattern!
This is a "CISO cut" style boonie, which is said to have been custom made by CISO (Counter Insurgency Support Office) during the Vietnam War period, and features a unique shallow crown. It is a typical Okinawan sewn boonie, and is a royal cut of issued goods. The size is also large, about 58.
The most attractive feature is the fabric. The Okinawan tiger stripe fabric, which remains clearly shaded, has very little fading, and the sharpness of the pattern and the depth of the colors stand out. Although there are some signs of use, the overall condition is very good, and it is a gem that can be called a "winner" among the few existing pieces.
The tag is missing, but based on the actual size, it is estimated to be a size M (around 58cm). The fit is tight due to the shallow fit, but since it is made of cotton, it can be slightly adjusted with a hat stretcher or the like. It is ideal for practical use as well as for collection and display. This hat is a piece filled with the fan-favorite elements of the Okinawa Tiger and CISO cut. Please keep it while you can find it. This is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
