The A-2 Deck Jacket is a classic winter field jacket of the U.S. Navy. This item is an actual release contracted in 1972, and is a rare piece that retains the large stencil on the back.

An updated version of its predecessor, the N-1 jacket, the A-2 was lighter and easier to handle, and was widely used by the U.S. Navy from the late Vietnam War until the early 1980s as deck work warm clothing.

The material is a windproof nylon/cotton blend shell with an alpaca-blend wool lining for excellent heat retention. It is packed with highly practical details such as a chest pocket, handwarmer pockets, and hem adjuster.

On the back, there are stencil markings such as "FAIR..." which seems to be a ship's name or identification code. and other stencil markings that appear to be ship's name and identification code remain. These are becoming more and more difficult to find and are a must have for collectors.

Condition: No noticeable damage, little crushing of the wool lining. Visibility of the stencil is also good. The item is in good condition with some signs of use, but does not hinder its wearability. This is a used item and cannot be returned. Please understand.
