This is an Air Force Blue N-2A flight jacket, produced for only a brief period during the early days of the U.S. Air Force.

When the U.S. Air Force became an independent branch in 1947, it adopted blue-based uniforms as a symbol of the new service. The N-2A is a prime example of this, and its deep navy blue nylon shell is a special specification unique to this era.Later, considering visibility and camouflage effectiveness in combat, the color was changed to sage green, leading to the development of the N-2B. Consequently, the Air Force Blue N-2A was produced for only a very short period and has since become a rare flight jacket that symbolizes the early days of the Air Force.
