A pair of 5th Pattern Tiger Stripe Trousers used by the South Vietnamese Marine Corps (VNMC) toward the end of the Vietnam War.

They are believed to date from the early 1970s and are thought to have been manufactured in Thailand.

Their most distinctive feature is the bold ripstop fabric, which gives these tiger-stripe trousers a strong presence. Featuring a VNMC-style camouflage pattern where olive green, khaki, and brown tones intricately intertwine against a very dark, nearly black stripe base, these trousers boast the rich, vibrant colors unique to an unused item.

They feature a large cargo pocket on the front and a flap pocket on the back. Green buttons are used throughout, giving them a functional design typical of combat uniforms. The stamp on the inside remains clearly visible, making them highly appealing as a collector’s item.

This item is in unused condition, with excellent fabric stiffness and vibrant camouflage colors. Among vintage Tiger Stripe items—many of which show fading or damage from actual combat use—a piece that preserves the original colors and details this vividly is exceptionally rare.

VNMC 5th Pattern, ripstop fabric, believed to be a local Thai production, and in unused condition. This is a must-have piece for anyone collecting variations of Tiger Stripe from the Vietnam War era.
