Among the South Korean-made tiger-stripe uniforms that appeared during the latter half of the Vietnam War, this is a late-war pattern made from heavyweight fabric, produced in the early stages of production. Sizes A–L.

Although the Late War pattern is a relatively new Tiger Stripe design adopted in the late 1960s, this early version—made with thick, heavyweight fabric—was produced for only a short time, making it a rare variation with very few surviving examples.Unlike the lightweight fabric that later became the standard, this variant features a substantial feel and a robust appearance, allowing you to experience the powerful presence unique to the Tiger Stripe pattern.

While the print is bold—typical of Korean-made garments—the heavyweight fabric lends a depth to the colors. The unique contrast woven from olive, brown, and black is exceptionally beautiful, exuding a charm distinct from that of lightweight fabric.

Sizes range from A to L. Large sizes are rarely found in the heavyweight version, and most are believed to have been produced exclusively in Asian cuts. This item is a rare piece featuring the compact silhouette typical of that era.

While Late War patterns in lightweight fabric have become more common in recent years, this heavyweight version is extremely rare on the market and is highly prized by collectors. Among the Tiger Stripe jackets from the Vietnam War era, this is a must-have piece.

Condition

Shows general signs of wear. There are holes and damage from wear, and the sleeves show fading from sun exposure. While there is overall fading due to age, the resulting color tones have a wonderful vintage feel, making this a piece that fully captures the unique charm of vintage Tiger Stripe.
