A special custom piece that recreates the distinctive spray-painted camouflage used by special forces during the Vietnam War. The size is estimated to be SMALL-REGULAR.
Based on an authentic U.S. military 4th Model Jungle Fatigue Jacket, this piece was spray-painted in-house at our store, MILITARIA 1911.During the Vietnam War, soldiers in special operations units—including MACV-SOG—would often modify their gear on their own depending on their missions and operating environments, sometimes applying camouflage via spray paint to their issued combat uniforms.
Unlike standardized camouflage uniforms, these camouflage patterns were created by soldiers in the field using their own judgment.
They embody a unique functional beauty born from real combat, as well as a striking individuality not found in standard military issue.
This jacket was recreated by our store, inspired by the field customizations made by special forces during the Vietnam War. The olive green body is spray-painted using two colors: black and brown.
It is characterized by bold, irregularly intersecting lines and the blurred edges typical of spray paint.
By applying the camouflage pattern from the front to the back and all the way to the sleeves, we’ve created a striking look that’s completely different from standard jungle fatigues.
The base jacket is the 4th Model, representative of the later stages of the Vietnam War.
It features functional details unique to jungle fatigues, such as diagonally placed chest pockets, large hip pockets, and a double-breasted front.
The fabric is a cotton ripstop woven with a grid-like pattern of reinforcing threads.
Lightweight and highly durable, this material is emblematic of tropical combat uniforms from the Vietnam War era.
This particular piece features a base jacket that has developed a distinctive patina from years of use; by layering spray paint over it, we’ve achieved a finish with the depth characteristic of vintage pieces.
Additionally, original details—such as the epaulets still visible around the shoulders and the diagonally placed chest pocket—serve as excellent accents.
The camouflage pattern, where black and brown overlap, takes on different appearances depending on the viewing angle and lighting, making this a truly atmospheric piece.
Please note that while the jacket itself is an authentic U.S. military piece from that era, the spray-painting was applied by our store in the present day.
This is not the original paintwork by soldiers from that era; rather, it is a custom piece designed to recreate the style of special forces during the Vietnam War.
Additionally, the paint will gradually fade and change in color with repeated wear and washing.
We hope you’ll enjoy this jacket, including the natural patina that develops over time.
It is especially recommended for those who find standard jungle fatigues lacking, as well as fans of MACV-SOG and Vietnam War-era special forces gear.
It combines the historical charm of authentic vintage gear with bold camouflage reminiscent of special forces field customizations.
We use authentic, used U.S. military jungle fatigues jackets.
The base jacket shows signs of wear, fading, and scuffing from use.
There is some fraying of the fabric near the back of the collar, and there are areas on the inside that appear to be repair marks.
We have applied black and brown spray paint to the entire jacket in-house.
Please note that the paint will gradually fade with washing and wear.
This is not the original period camouflage pattern; it is a custom item created by our store.
As this is a used item, returns are not accepted. Thank you for your understanding.
